How to make a zen garden

Select the site and place the rocks

Look for other rocks for the site in the garden

Prepare the site, remove excess plants rocks

Grade the soil for water drainage

Lay the weed barrier sheets

Staple the sheet to the ground

Lay down the paved stones for a border using lime stone

 Border is done and brushed with lime stone

Cover the area with 3-4 " of pea gravel

Hide the wires for lighting under the gravel

Spot lights installed

Cut the excess weed cover

Grade the pea gravel

Rake the pea gravel with a rake as you like to resemble ripple effects of water or other designs (use a better rake than this for finer lines.  My friend is making one right now for me. I will ask him and post it here: How to make a Zen rake? )

 Rake around smaller stones too

Adjust the lighting in the night
